Fandango returns from injury, Breezango earns NXT Tag Team Title opportunity

After being out of action since late 2019, Fandango returned to NXT and he and Tyler Breeze earned themselves an NXT Tag Team Title opportunity.

In late December, Fandango shared via a post on Instagram that he underwent Tommy John surgery and the recovery time for Tommy John surgery is in between six to 18 months. On tonight’s edition of NXT, Fandango made his return to the black and yellow brand and he and Tyler Breeze earned themselves an NXT Tag Title opportunity.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch along with Undisputed ERA (Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish) competed in a three-way tag team match and the third team was advertised as a mystery that ultimately ended up being Breezango. After a distraction by way of Dexter Lumis, Fandango was able to get the upper hand on Bobby Fish and secure the victory for himself and Tyler Breeze. Prior to the match, Beth Phoenix stated that Fandango opted to do physical therapy instead of having surgery. In the Summer of 2018, Fandango suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder and he returned in the Summer of 2019.

After the match, Breezango was confronted by NXT Tag Team Champions Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner. Not long after Imperium arrived, they were met by Malcolm Bivens and his duo of Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar who last wrestled on the April 8th episode of NXT.

Following NXT, head over to the upNXT YouTube channel for their review of the June 3rd edition of the show.
