New Japan Pro Wrestling has released an update on Kota Ibushi, stating that the performer suffered a concussion during his match with Will Ospreay at the Tokyo Dome.

During the match, Ibushi’s face was bloodied and finished the match following an elbow strike to the back of the head by Ospreay. After the match, Ibushi was taken out on a stretcher. It was not known if he required a stretcher because of the concussion or was selling the effects of the finishing sequence to get the elbow strike over as Ospreay’s finish.

New Japan is stating that it isn’t considered serious, but with a concussion, it’s hard to determine the severity or how long the recovery period will be.
