POST SCHEDULE: WWE Earnings Call, Global Warning ’02, UFC 247, Liger-Pillman

This week at POST Wrestling, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is back, coverage of UFC 247 & New Beginning, Liger vs. Pillman from Nitro, the BWE & more.

Coming up this week, we have a loaded schedule as usual with shows being released daily.

For members of the POST Wrestling Café, bonus shows include Rewind-A-Wai #54 where we travel to Melbourne for the WWE’s first show in the country since 1986 where their Global Warning event from Colonial Stadium (now Marvel Stadium) in the summer of 2002. The show was set to feature Hulk Hogan, who did not make the trip (more on that in the show) and was headlined by The Rock vs. Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar along with early 2000 cliché matches with a ‘Bra and Panties’ and ‘Kiss My Ass’ match on the card. We will discuss this era of WWE, the early months of the brand split, The Rock’s role that summer for the company, the rise of Brock Lesnar and more.

We will also have the Café Hangout LIVE at 3 pm Eastern this Thursday with a packed show. This will primarily focus on WWE’s fourth quarter and year-end earnings report and investor’s call. Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics will join us to discuss this and the massive ramifications resulting from George Barrios and Michelle Wilson leaving the company, which should dominate the discussion on the earnings call. Plus, we will look at Wednesday night’s programs and look ahead to the re-launch of the XFL this weekend while taking your phone calls.

There will an additional bonus show for Café members on Sunday night as Wai and I review New Japan’s New Beginning in Osaka card featuring Tetsuya Naito vs. KENTA, Jon Moxley vs. Minoru Suzuki, and Hiromu Takahashi vs. Ryu Lee on top of the card.

This week also sees the return of the British Wrestling Experience on Friday as Martin, Benno & Jamesie will discuss the latest cards from Progress, OTT, the Worlds Collide show, Marty Scurll’s role with ROH, NXT UK signings, Christian Michael Jakobi officially leaving wXw & more.

We’ve got Phil Chertok joining us Saturday night for the UFC 247 POST Show with Jon Jones vs. Dominick Reyes for the light heavyweight title and Valentina Shevchenko vs. Katlyn Chookagian for the flyweight title, and WH Park returns Sunday with Thunderstruck and his guest will be Nate Milton to review Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Brian Pillman from the first edition of WCW Monday Nitro in September 1995.
