AEW Dynamite notes: NWA World Women’s Title match, Matt Hardy update, Cody announcement

AEW announced their lineup for next week's program on either 9/16 or 9/17, Matt Rehwoldt reacted to Miro's debut and Cody made an announcement at the conclusion of the show.

During the 9/9/20 broadcast of AEW Dynamite on TNT, because of the NBA Playoffs, next week’s Dynamite could air on on either 9/16 or 9/17. On next week’s Dynamite, Thunder Rosa is returning to defend her NWA World Women’s Championship against Ivelisse.

Matt Hardy appeared on Dynamite to provide an update on his condition after his fall at All Out in his ‘Broken Rules’ match against Sammy Guevara. Hardy stated that he’s expected to make a full recovery and when he gets cleared, he’s coming after an AEW title. Reby Hardy was shown on camera during the segment.

In addition to the NWA Women’s Title match, next week will feature Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent) versus Santana and Ortiz in a Parking Lot Brawl. Chris Jericho announced that he and Jake Hager are transitioning to the tag team division and they’ll start off by facing Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy). Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus are set to go up against the AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and if they can score a victory, they’ll get a shot at the tag titles. Also next week, MJF will be have a promo segment and Adam Page is facing Frankie Kazarian in singles competition.

On October 14th, which is being billed as AEW’s Anniversary show, Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against Lance Archer. Archer earned that opportunity by winning the Casino Battle Royale at All Out.

Coming out of the show, Matthew Rehwoldt reacted to news of Miro (Rusev’s) joining AEW:

It was teased that Cody had an announcement to make at the conclusion of the show and it was that he’s going to be a guest judge on the new competition show ‘Go Big’ which will air on TBS.
