AEW Revolution notes: Kenny Omega retains, Double Or Nothing date, Dynamite

Notes coming out of the AEW Revolution pay-per-view include Kenny Omega retaining, Double Or Nothing 3 and much more.

Kenny Omega’s reign as AEW World Champion continued at Revolution as he defeated Jon Moxley in the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. Omega was assisted to victory by IMPACT Tag Team Champions Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson. After the match, the 30-minute countdown was still ongoing before the explosions around the ring went off. Eddie Kingston came down to the ring to shield Jon Moxley who was handcuffed by Gallows and Anderson.

The third installment of Double Or Nothing is taking place on May 30th from Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place.

At the beginning of the Revolution pay-per-view, the company aired a graphic for the late Jim Crockett Jr. who passed away last week at the age of 76.

Fenix and Jungle Boy were the final two competitors in the AEW Tag Team Casino Battle Royale. Fenix eliminated Jungle Boy to earn a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships for himself and PAC. This week on Dynamite, Matt Jackson will go one-on-one with Fenix.

During the Casino Tag Team Battle Royale, QT Marshall eliminated himself from the match after Dustin Rhodes got in his face about QT eliminating Austin and Colten Gunn, fellow members of The Nightmare Family.

Hikaru Shida successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Ryo Mizunami at Revolution. After the match, Shida and Mizunami were ambushed by Nyla Rose, Britt Baker and Maki Itoh. Baker and Itoh competed on The BUY-IN and defeated Thunder Rosa and Riho in a tag team match. This Wednesday on Dynamite, Baker, Itoh and Rebel are teaming up to face Thunder Rosa, Hikaru Shida and Ryo Mizunami.

Dark Order assisted Hangman Page in defeating Matt Hardy. They put the outside odds in Hangman’s favor by taking out Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen of Private Party.

Sting picked up the win for he and Darby Allin in their cinematic-style tag match. Sting pinned Ricky Starks for the finish.

Al Snow and Danny Limelight were in the crowd for the show. Back in February, Limelight revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19. He last wrestled for AEW on the 1/21 edition of AEW Dark.

The Inner Circle is hosting a ‘War Council’ on the 3/10 Dynamite. Following Chris Jericho and MJF’s loss in their AEW World Tag Team Title match, Jericho said some changes are coming to the group.
