Suwama is the latest professional wrestler to test positive for COVID-19 with the All Japan star vacating the Triple Crown Championship.

Tokyo Sports confirmed Suwama’s positive test after he missed Saturday’s All Japan show in Toyama due to “poor physical condition”. Suwama took an antigen test that came back negative for the virus, however, a follow-up PCR test confirmed he had COVID-19.

Suwama has vacated the Triple Crown Championship and is off next weekend’s Champion’s Night event where he was set to defend the championship against Champion Carnival winner Jake Lee. There is no word yet on how All Japan will determine its next champion.

The 44-year old is a seven-time holder of the Triple Crown Championship with his latest reign beginning in March 2020 when he unseated Kento Miyahara.
