Toru Yano is set to defend his claim to the KOPW 2021 trophy when NJPW returns to the Tokyo Dome later this month.

The promotion has announced that a pre-show ‘Ranbo’ battle royal will take place with Yano defending the KOPW 2021 trophy in the match.

The ‘Ranbo’ is New Japan’s version of the Royal Rumble where additional entrants join the match at one-minute intervals.

It is the second match officially announced for the Wrestle Grand Slam event at the Tokyo Dome on Sunday, July 25th along with the main event between Shingo Takagi and Kota Ibushi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
