April 28th, 2022

Gilley’s in Dallas, TX

By: John Siino

Commentary: Rich Bocchini & Joe Dombrowski

Going for that Tag Gold

As Rich Bocchini and Joe Dombrowski start the show with tonight’s line-up, they get interrupted by Alex Kane and Mr. Thomas. Kane says they do what they want and run this show as Bocchini says what they did to Calvin Tankman was uncalled for. Kane says he’s proud of that and makes him a bit unliked around here, but he doesn’t care as he’s still the champ. Kane says that he and Thomas are going after Tankman and EJ Nduka and their tag team championship.

Gino Medina & Strange Sangre (Arez & Mini Abismo Negro) (w/ Gangrel) vs. KC Navarro, Aramis & Micro Man

Mister Saint Laurent introduced Microman, and then joined commentary as Medina and Aramis started the match, just for Medina to keep escaping to the outside. Arez and Navarro eventually come in and run the ropes before Arez hits a DDT for a two-count. Medina and Aramis finally go at it before Medina goes right back outside again as his partners start yelling at him. Abismo and Micro come in and Abismo kicks him right down and teases the crowd before stomping out Micro. Micro comes back with some offense including a dropkick knocking Abismo to the outside. Medina grabs Abismo’s head but Aramis comes in and knocks Medina to the outside and hits a tope suicida. All six men start brawling in the ring including a double suplex on Aramis as Arez gets a one-count. The crowd starts chanting for Micro Man as they are attacking him including dropping him on Arez’s knee. Micro is able to escape the attack as Navarro comes in and takes them out. They start triple-teaming Medina taking him outside before putting Micro Man on the top rope who dives to Abismo on the outside, followed by dives from Navarro and Aramis. Abismo and Navarro go at it, with Abismo hitting a moonsault that Micro breaks up the pin attempt for. Micro hits a pair of arm drags and hits a rolling senton off the middle rope. Micro starts kicking Arez, but Gangrel grabs Micro and chokes him out as Arez hits a backbreaker on Micro. Aramis and Arez go at it for a bit, until Navarro comes in and takes out Medina with a DDT. All six men come in and start taking turns with some offense until Medina and Arez try to hit a superplex on Aramis, but Micro Man runs in and hits a tower of doom. Yes, you read that right. Micro is able to take out Arez and Abismo on the outside as Medina and Aramis go at it inside. Medina turns Aramis’ mask sideways and hits a reverse TKO for the pin.

Winners: Gino Medina & Strange Sangre (Arez & Mini Abismo Negro) by pinfall at 11:55

After the match, Medina rips off Aramis’ mask.

World Class

We see footage from two weeks ago of the Von Erich Family giving Dallas, Texas the WCWA World Heavyweight Championship. They said that this title plus other heirlooms will be on display starting May 1st and to check the MLW website for more details.

Ready to Fight

David Marquez is backstage at Gilley’s and tries to get a word with Alex Hammerstone ahead of tonight’s main event. Hammerstone starts drinking something and Marquez is confused as Hammerstone starts talking about Mads Krugger and Jacob Fatu being two men he’s faced but two men he’s never defended this title against. As he keeps taking sips, he said he was ready to fight.

The SAT Returns

We get an announcement that this June marks the 20th anniversary of MLW’s first-ever event, so MLW originals from the first generation’s roster will be making their return to commemorate the League’s milestone. The first to be announced is Los Maximos (Joel, Jose & Will), and they will be returning at Kings of Colosseum on May 13th in Philadelphia.

Hail Krugger

We get a video from Mads Krugger where he talks about the smell of fear being around us and it’s intoxicating. Krugger said he’s looked into the eyes of fear twice now with Hammerstone. Tonight, he finishes his mission and the last thing they will see is the Black Hand holding the world heavyweight title and says ‘Hail Krugger’ to end the promo.

Show Your Face

We see footage of a masked man costing Myron Reed the match last week as we cut to a promo from Reed. Reed said he was robbed and whoever this masked guy is, he needs answers. Reed thinks Cesar Duran had something to do with it or it could have been someone kicking down the Forbidden Door. Reed says he’s been here the longest and he has his enemies but next week he will put his title on the line and if the attacker is ‘not a ho’, he’ll show his face.

Alex Kane and Mr. Thomas are walking backstage as Kane says they have to expand the trophy case as they walk into EJ Nduka and Calvin Tankman and have a bit of a scuffle and talk trash to each other.

Road Trip

We go to 5150 as Rivera and Hernandez are playing pool. Julius Smokes comes in and says he has a present as it’s the WCWA World Heavyweight Championship. They talk about pawning it, but Smokes suggests a road trip.

MLW World Heavyweight Championship: Alex Hammerstone (c) vs. Mads Krugger vs. Jacob Fatu

Richard Holliday comes out first and joins commentary for this match as Hammerstone comes out and goes right after him, attacking him. Krugger stops Hammerstone but they are met by a Fosbury Flop from Fatu. Fatu and Krugger start going at it in the ring with running splashes and boots before Krugger slams Fatu down and grabs the CONTRA flag to choke Fatu out with it. Hammerstone comes in as he and Fatu double team and kicks Krugger out of the ring. Hammerstone and Fatu go at it with Hammerstone hitting a belly-to-belly overhead suplex before Fatu comes back with a uranage and a springboard moonsault for a two count. Krugger comes in and hits a double chokeslam sending them both the outside where he dives onto them. They start brawling on the outside for a bit before Hammerstone and Krugger end up back inside where Krugger hits a face-first chokeslam for a two, followed by a suplex for a one-count as Hammerstone starts hulking up. Hammerstone starts slamming Krugger into the corners before hitting a power slam followed by one to Fatu. Krugger hits a fall-away slam to Hammerstone off the middle rope but gets hit with a top rope senton by Fatu for a two. Fatu and Krugger go at it, but Hammerstone takes them down with a dropkick off the top rope, followed by a TKO to Fatu for a two count. Fatu comes back with a Samoan Drop, before taking a chair away from Krugger and hitting him in the head with it. Fatu places the chair on Hammerstone in the corner, grabs another chair, and hits a coast to coast with it for a two count. Krugger comes in with a club and takes Fatu out with it, sending him to the outside. Krugger goes after Hammerstone, but Hammerstone hits a low blow, followed by a running boot. Hammerstone goes and grabs a wooden board from under the ring and sets it up in the corner. Krugger stops Hammerstone with a choke breaker and gets a two count, before tossing down the referee. Hammerstone comes back with an overhead belly-to-belly but there’s nobody there to make the count. Richard Holliday runs in and takes Hammerstone out with a DDT. Fatu runs in and hits a top rope moonsault wakes up the referee but only gets a two-count. Krugger grabs the chair, but Fatu spears him through the wooden board and falls to the outside. Hammerstone grabs Krugger and hits the Nightmare Pendulum and gets the pin and the win.
