WWE Raw notes: Dexter Lumis to compete for ‘WWE contract’, Bray Wyatt vignette, DX reunion

Scheduled for the 10/17 Monday Night Raw is Dexter Lumis versus The Miz. If Miz wins, Lumis is gone from WWE but if Lumis wins, he’ll get a contract with the company. That news was broken to Miz by Shawn Michaels, Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James and Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman. Earlier in the show, Lumis interrupted Miz’s birthday bash and ran him out of the ring. Miz left Maryse alone with Lumis.

After Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson returned to WWE, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White tweeted about it and the NJPW World account shared that tweet. The account also shared Hikuleo’s tweet about Anderson.

Following his return at Extreme Rules, there was a Bray Wyatt vignette that aired. He had his mask on and repeatedly said, “Revel in what you are”.

Closing out the show was the D-Generation X reunion. As Road Dogg was doing his signature intro, he let the crowd say the part about Billy Gunn. On commentary, Corey Graves said he thinks the “other guy” is doing something with office equipment these days.

Prior to Monday Night Raw going live on USA Network, NXT’s Carmelo Hayes and Von Wagner were in action respectively for a ‘Main Event’ taping. Hayes bested Cedric Alexander and Von Wagner defeated R-Truth.

Rey Mysterio scored a win over Chad Gable. Post-match, Dominik Mysterio confronted his father and encouraged Rey to hit him. Rey refused to do so which led to him being taken out by Judgment Day and Dominik gave Rey the 619.

During the first hour of the program, Sami Zayn addressed Jey Uso’s behavior on behalf of Roman Reigns. This led to Jey instigating a match between Zayn and Matt Riddle which Zayn lost.

Uli Latukefu, who plays Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the NBC series ‘Young Rock’ was in attendance.

Coming off of losing the Raw Women’s Title Ladder match at Extreme Rules, Bayley was in singles action and she lost to Candice LeRae. Post-match, Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY ambushed LeRae. Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair attempted to make the save but she was beaten down as well.

Johnny Gargano picked up a win over Austin Theory.
