Harwood wants AEW to know he’d never make the company or talent ‘look less than’.

Dating back to late 2022, Dax Harwood has been releasing episodes of his ‘FTR with Dax Harwood’ podcast. Topics he’s covered include CM Punk, The Pinnacle faction in AEW, stories from his time in WWE and more subjects.

Harwood will be doing a live episode of the podcast in Los Angeles, California and to promote that, he joined Busted Open Radio

He’s been open that there have been some within AEW who were not happy with how open he is on the podcast. Harwood went on to share that he has sent transcripts of his comments to AEW’s legal team in case they wanted something edited out or altered. Harwood added that he’d never try to make AEW or their talents look ‘less than’.

To my face at least, I’ve gotten complete support (for my podcast). I have gotten a few people tell me, you know, ‘There’s some people in AEW that haven’t been happy with how open the podcast is’ and what I’ve said. Especially with the (CM) Punk episode and even the most recent, The Pinnacle episode, I would send transcripts to legal, AEW legal and say, ‘Hey, just to let you know, this is what I’m saying. If you’d like to read over it, you’re more than welcome to or if you’d like to listen to it before we put it out, you can listen to it here and if you have any problems with anything I say, please let me know and we can figure out a way to edit around it’ and so, I’ve tried to be a team player while I’m still with AEW. I’ve tried to be a team player and make sure they know that I would never in a million years go out and try to make the company or any of their talent look less than. That’s not my goal at all. My goal is just to express how much I love wrestling, how much I’d love to help people in general and just have fun doing it because if I’m not having fun, I’ll just stop.

One of the subjects focused on during the podcast was CM Punk, which Harwood said drew a mixed reaction when it comes to what he said on the show.

Harwood shared that when Punk first arrived to AEW, he did not think him and the former AEW World Champion would see eye-to-eye.

(CM) Punk has a lot of detractors, he also has a lot of people that love him and coming into AEW, I didn’t think him and I would get along at all, because of the stories I’d heard and you know, I’ve told this story before where I was talking to Cash (Wheeler) and I said, ‘Hey, if this guy comes in and tells me that I’m not dressed the part or I need to go wear a suit if I’m backstage, we’re gonna have a problem’ but he came in, he was the complete opposite.

Harwood and Cash Wheeler’s deals with AEW are expiring in April. They were granted time off by Tony Khan to think about their future.
