Kingston shares words of encouragement from Jon Moxley.

Present day, Eddie Kingston is the reigning ROH World and NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion. Since winning those titles, Kingston has had multiple defenses of both belts and has defenses lined up.

As he was speaking with Adrian Hernandez for a sit-down interview, he discussed how he chooses to navigate his detractors. Kingston shared words of encouragement he received from Jon Moxley, who told Kingston that at this stage in his career, if he does not have haters, he’s doing something wrong.

Kingston went on to add that he may not look like what some perceive a pro wrestler to look like, but none of those individuals will be able take away what he’s done and what he will do in wrestling.

Mox told me this a while ago, he said, ‘If you’re not having haters by now in your career being on TV, then you’re not doing a good job,’ and I’m like, ‘Nah, you’re right,’ and no one can take any of this away from me. Haters or whoever. Yeah, I don’t look like the typical wrestler. I ain’t got (a) six-pack, I don’t have these huge ass muscles, you know what I mean? But the bottom line is, you can’t take away what I’ve done and what I’m going to do. So, sit there and hate all day bro, do you. Watch something else then. I don’t care. Watch wrestling. Just watch pro wrestling. I don’t care. I don’t care what kind of pro wrestling it is. Just watch it.

Kingston’s most recent defense of the ROH World Title was on the Dynamite Title Tuesday BUY-IN against Minoru Suzuki.

He successfully defended the STRONG Openweight Title against HENARE at Fighting Spirit Unleashed. At the November 10th Lonestar Shootout event, Satoshi Kojima is going to be challenging Kingston for the championship
