A new clip from The Undertaker’s ‘Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway’ podcast was posted to his YouTube channel. In the clip, he discussed the pyro accident he was involved in during his entrance at WWE Elimination Chamber 2010.
Undertaker previously dove into that story while sitting down with Stone Cold Steve Austin for Broken Skull Sessions. In his updated recount of what occurred, he shared that the person responsible was not in the venue by the time the match was over and Undertaker never saw said individual again.
I stick my hat on, boom, I go out. 10 seconds later, I’m caught up in a pyro fire burst. Came up on my left and it drove me to my right and when I went and turned to my right, the right side blew. I could see my hat, there was a flame ball on my hat and on my sleeve so I shook that stuff as quick as I could. I continue that pace all the way to the ring and then I get into the pod. They were asking me if I was okay and I was just telling them, I was like, ‘Get me water.’ So they were handing me bottles of water and I was pouring it on myself and I’m looking down and I can smell the burnt flesh. I was pissed, but I told the guy, I said, ‘The pyro is too close to me’ and he came back with, ‘Nah, I think it was just a draft in the building.’ The person that was responsible was not in the arena by the time that-that match was over. We’ll put it that way. Nor have I seen that person since.
The main event Elimination Chamber match that year was won by Chris Jericho. Shawn Michaels emerged from underneath the structure to cost Undertaker the World Heavyweight Title to set up their match at WrestleMania 26.
