At P.P.P. Tokyo’s November 4th show in Yokohama, Japan, Echika Miyabi came back out to the ring after her singles match. She shared with the audience that in January, she’ll be taking time off as she’ll be undergoing gender-affirming surgery.

Gender-affirming surgery or sex reassignment surgery is the procedure by which a transgender or non-binary person’s physical appearance and functional abilities are changed to align with the gender they identify as.

P.P.P. Tokyo showed full support for Miyabi and noted that they respect her decision.

She is aiming to return to the ring by either fall or winter 2024. Her last match before her hiatus will be on January 9th at Shinjuku FACE.

Miyabi is 22 years of age and began her in-ring career in September of 2022.
