The match is one that Mia is looking forward to.

It is well documented that Roxanne Perez got her start in pro wrestling under Booker T at Reality of Wrestling in Texas. The WWE Hall of Famer is the color commentator for NXT on USA Network and Perez is a member of the brand.

For the first time in several years, Perez is going to be in action for Reality of Wrestling. She is scheduled to go one-on-one with Interim Diamonds Division Champion Mia Friday on 1/13. Going into the match, Friday was profiled by KBTX-TV in Texas and she promoted the match. She added that she has a dream of her own to compete in WWE.

Oh, I get emotional (seeing Roxanne Perez’s success). I have this dream of being in WWE. Sometimes, it’s just so hard to believe it, you know? Especially all the ups and downs in pro wrestling but, to go from wrestling this person and tag teaming, you know, and then all of a sudden, she’s in WWE, she’s winning championships. I’m like, ‘Woah! We’re kind of in the same wavelength. That could be me one day.’ It’s a lot of pressure and it’s gonna be a lot of eyes on me too. You gotta believe that but, I mean, this is what I’ve been training for, this is what I’ve been working for.

At NXT New Year’s Evil, Perez was in action against Arianna Grace. She scored the pin fall victory but due to a post-match attack that Perez would not let up on, the referee reversed his decision and declared Arianna the victor.
