Shotzi reportedly suffered an injury during the WWE NXT TV tapings on Tuesday night.

The 31-year-old Smackdown talent developed a knee injury while competing in a match against NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria, per a report from Fightful Select.

POST Wrestling has independently confirmed the knee injury sustained by Shotzi.

Reports state that a knee of Shotzi seemingly became injured after it landed against the side of the ring in a “freak accident.” After the match was called off, NXT talent Lash Legend faced Valkyria in an “open challenge” match. Valkyria successfully defended her belt in the impromptu bout.

While most episodes of NXT air live, two weeks of television were taped at one event in Florida on Tuesday. A backstage angle during this week’s episode put together a match between Shotzi and Valkyria that was booked for the February 20 episode.

The severity of Shotzi’s injury isn’t known at the moment. If significant, it will take her out of the conversation for WWE’s Elimination Chamber event in Perth, Australia later this month.

Shotzi is currently promoted for this week’s Friday Night Smackdown episode in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match against Tiffany Stratton.
