WWE NXT notes: Ridge Holland’s in-ring future, Meta-Four hosting Stand & Deliver, Natalya returns, Carmelo/Trick

There was an appearance from Ridge Holland on the program and he came out to announce that he’s stepping away from in-ring competition indefinitely. Holland does not want to continue hurting people and said it is a decision he came to after speaking with loved ones and debating it internally. Holland’s profile has been moved to the ‘alumni’ section of WWE’s official website.

The hosts of NXT Stand & Deliver are Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson & Oro Mensah). On the 4/2 show, Meta-Four will be hosting Supernova Sessions with Roxanne Perez and NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria.

Lola Vice issued an open challenge and answering the call was Natalya. Karmen Petrovic made her way to the ringside area to support Natalya. The two-time WWE Women’s Champion bested Vice with a roll-up.

There was a three-part Prime Target special that aired to promote the match between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes at Stand & Deliver. Featured in the special were Booker T, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and Cody Rhodes. Williams and Hayes will face-off on 4/2 before their match at the PLE.

In the main event, NXT Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin bested Alpha Academy’s Akira Tozawa and Otis. If Alpha Academy had won, they would’ve been added to the Tag Title match at Stand & Deliver. On 4/2, The Good Brothers (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson), L.W.O. (Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) along with Nathan Frazer and Axiom will compete in a Triple Threat tag match to determine Breakker and Corbin’s opponents at Stand & Deliver.

Also on the bill for 4/2 is the following:

  • Sol Ruca vs. Blair Davenport
  • Tony D’Angelo invites NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov to dinner

Kicking off the program was a singles bout between Dijak and Shawn Spears. During the bout, Joe Gacy stole the chair that Spears had set up near the ring steps and Spears was not able to locate it. Dijak ended up scoring the win. Spears got the chair back when he was doing an interview in the parking lot and Gacy threw the chair at him from the roof of the Performance Center.
