Mark Briscoe enjoyed what Nightingale and Athena were able to do at Death Before Dishonor.

The 2024 ROH Supercard of Honor event is scheduled for April 5th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The headlining bout will be Mark Briscoe challenging Eddie Kingston for the ROH World Championship.

April 5th, 2024 is going to be 11 years to the day that Mark’s late brother Jamin Pugh (Jay Briscoe) won the ROH World Title for the first time at Supercard of Honor.

Ahead of the match, Mark was interviewed by Phil Strum for the Under The Ring podcast. He brought up that prior to his knee operation in 2023, he was supposed to challenge for the ROH World Title at Death Before Dishonor. That event was headlined by Athena and Willow Nightingale’s Women’s World Title bout. Briscoe believes that is a top-five match of 2023.

It was supposed to be me and Claudio (Castagnoli) back in the summertime (at ROH Death Before Dishonor) and I hurt my knee, had to get knee surgery and man, Willow (Nightingale) and Athena… is that who it was? Oh my goodness. That match was amazing, and I mean just for those ladies to be able to step up and to be able to put on, in my opinion, one of the top-five matches of the year, that’s amazing to me and the big shows, we’ve been just knocking it out the park. Hopefully, moving forward, who knows what the future holds? It’d be awesome to see Ring of Honor on TV. But, yeah, right now, don’t sleep on Ring of Honor. I’m gonna put it that way. Don’t sleep on Ring of Honor.
