Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque states that Brock Lesnar is not gone from WWE, confirms talks about Royal Rumble

Highlights from the closing portion of the WrestleMania XL night one press conference.

Night one of WWE WrestleMania XL concluded and following it, a press conference took place. Capping off the presser was WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque.

Towards the backend of his presser session, Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston asked about the status of Brock Lesnar and if there were plans for him to be involved in the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble match. POST Wrestling’s John Pollock reported that there were plans in place for Lesnar to return at the Premium Live Event, but those were scrapped after he was named in the Wall Street Journal’s reporting of the sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE.

Levesque confirmed there were talks with Lesnar about the Royal Rumble. He added that Lesnar is not gone from WWE, but he’s just ‘at home being Brock’.

Below are the remainder of the highlights from Levesque’s media scrum:

  • Gave props to Shawn Michaels and the team at NXT. He said what they’ve done is nothing short of remarkable.
  • Night one of WrestleMania XL broke the all-time single-night gate record. That record was previously held by WrestleMania 32 (2016)
  • Spoke highly of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Levesque stated that Johnson does not have to be here and they’re bonded through wrestling.
  • He reacted to the praise Paul Heyman heaped onto him during his Hall of Fame speech. He stated that Heyman is one of the greatest minds and talkers in the history of the business. It was meaningful to him that Heyman spotlighted him on a night that was about Heyman. Levesque shared that Heyman left it up to him to leave an engraved word in his Hall of Fame ring.
