NJPW has released new details for the G1 Climax qualifier tournament.
Twelve wrestlers will wrestle for the final two spots in this year’s G1 over four dates during the NJPW Soul tour.
In the A Block qualifier, Chase Owens faces YOSHI-HASHI and Yujiro Takahashi meets Callum Newman on June 22 in Fukushima. Owens or YOSHI-HASHI will advance to face Tomohiro Ishii while Yujiro or Newman takes on KENTA on July 3 at Korakuen Hall. Those two winners meet on July 5 to determine who gets the final spot in the A Block.
The B Block qualifier features Boltin Oleg vs. Toru Yano and TJP vs. Satoshi Kojima on June 23 in Kamisu. The Oleg/Yano winner faces Hiroshi Tanahashi, the TJP/Kojima winner faces Taichi on July 3 at Korakuen Hall, and the winners advance to meet on July 5.
The June 22, June 23, July 3, and July 5 cards will stream live on New Japan World.
The G1 Climax will include two blocks with ten wrestlers each and begins July 20 in Osaka and runs until August 18.
