In the main event of the program, there was a Fatal 4-Way match to determine the next challenger to Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship. Competing in the match was Jey Uso, Pete Dunne, Braun Strowman and Ilja Dragunov. During the bout, Bronson Reed appeared and jumped onto Strowman and they went through the announce table. Uso went on to secure the win by pinning Dunne.
There is going to be a World Tag Team Title match on the 10/16 program. Judgment Day’s Finn Bálor and J.D. McDonagh are putting the titles on the line against The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods).
WWE honored Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau. The brothers were killed by a suspected drunk driver on August 29th. Cameras followed backstage interviewer Jackie Redmond outside of the Scotiabank Saddledome where there were tributes all over for the Gaudreau brothers. Sami Zayn sported a Johnny Gaudreau jersey during his segment on the show.
Backstage interviewer and host Cathy Kelley was not present on Raw as she was at The Killer’s Game premiere. Bayley and current AEW TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné were in attendance as well.
The duo of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair retained the Women’s Tag Titles by besting Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
After it was made official that CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will clash inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood, Punk was announced for the 10/16 Raw.
Kicking off the show was The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan & Dexter Lumis) defeating American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed & Ivy Nile) in a Street Fight. Uncle Howdy got involved and hit Gable with a Sister Abigail.
