TV Ratings: AEW Dynamite ranks fifth in prime time, NXT returns to normal night

AEW Dynamite saw a spike in its audience this past Wednesday leading to the show’s largest number since its fifth anniversary show in October.

According to Programming Insider & Wrestlenomics, the November 13 edition of Dynamite averaged 666,000 viewers and 295,000 viewers (0.22) in the 18-49 demographic.

The show ranked fifth among cable programs in prime time behind the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans (0.34) on ESPN, and programming on Fox News while outperforming MTV’s The Challenge, Tyler Perry’s Sistas, and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

Last week’s episode of Dynamite aired head-to-head with NXT on CW, so there was a noticeable increase this week with viewership increasing by 27% and the 18-49 audience improving by 34%. It was the most-watched edition of Dynamite since the anniversary episode on October 2 and the largest number in the core demographic since Grand Slam on September 25.

In the 18-49 demographic, male viewership grew from 155,000 viewers last week to 198,000 and females improved from 60,000 viewers to 91,000 this week. Two weeks ago, males averaged 162,000 and females were 94,000.

In the 18-34 demo, the show averaged 77,000 viewers and increased by 9% from last week. Males decreased from last week’s head-to-head show from 61,000 to 50,000 but were compensated by females in the demo growing from 10,000 to 37,000.

The big rebound was seen among adults 35-49, who improved by 47% this week, averaging 212,000 viewers, the largest audience in this demo since August 14.

Dynamite averaged 93,900 viewers and 48,400 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2 in Canada, which was up from 80,400 and 39,700 last week.

Tuesday’s edition of NXT averaged 631,000 viewers and 215,000 (0.16) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics & Programming Insider.

The show increased by 2% from last week’s head-to-head programming on CW with AEW on TBS but the 18-49 audience dropped by 9% returning to the show’s normal night.

In the core demo, males averaged 141,000 viewers, which was down 9% from last week and females were even with last Wednesday’s number of 73,000. Two weeks ago, males averaged 121,000 and females were at 60,000.

Its competition included the New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers on TNT (0.58) and back-to-back college games on ESPN (0.39 and 0.53).

The Canadian viewership was approximately 101,000 with 46,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360, an improvement from last week’s figures of 83,600 and 33,500. This week was the most-watched episode of NXT in Canada since July 16.
