Double title bout is locked in.
It had been promoted that the NEVER Openweight Championship match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 would be Shingo Takagi defending against Konosuke Takeshita. If Takeshita was to hold onto the AEW International Championship, their bout would be a double title match.
At AEW Worlds End, Takeshita successfully defended against Powerhouse Hobbs.
The double title match against Takagi on January 4th is now official. The winner of that bout will head back to the Tokyo Dome on January 5th to defend both belts against Tomohiro Ishii at Wrestle Dynasty.
