AXS TV on New Japan programming: “Our agreement expired at the end of 2024”

AXS TV will no longer be airing New Japan Pro Wrestling after the expiration of its latest deal.

The news of NJPW departing the network was first reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio and confirmed to POST Wrestling by AXS TV.

A representative for AXS TV shared the following when POST Wrestling inquired:

We will not be airing New Japan Pro Wrestling for the foreseeable future.  Our agreement expired at the end of 2024.  And we do not comment on the state of current or future agreements.

AXS TV began airing NJPW in 2014 with English-language commentary from Mauro Ranallo and Josh Barnett and later involving Jim Ross, Chris Charlton, and Kevin Kelly.

NJPW left AXS in late 2019 after the majority interest in the network was purchased by Anthem Sports & Entertainment. The two sides forged a new deal and New Japan returned to the station in 2022.
