Kevin Owens revealed on Friday Night SmackDown that he will be undergoing surgery and is out indefinitely.

The PWN outlet reported on Friday that Owens was dealing with an undisclosed injury and his match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania was in jeopardy.

Owens walked out to the ring at the Allstate Arena during a segment with Nick Aldis to explain he had been dealing with a neck injury for the past four months and had discovered he would require surgery.

Owens was unsure when he would be able to perform again but thanked the audience before Randy Orton came out and the two shared a moment together on the apron before Owens departed.

Aldis informed Orton that he doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania 41 due to this news and it ended with Orton hitting the RKO to Aldis.

Owens, 40, did not wrestle for nearly three months between September and December last year but came back for the post-Christmas live events where he worked with Cody Rhodes in steel cage matches.

In 2025, he had wrestled four matches and had not wrestled since the Unsanctioned match with Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber on March 1.
