NJPW’s first-ever trip up to the SAGA Arena will include three title matchups.
Juniors will be the main focus of the night, as both the singles and tag titles for the division will be on the line.
The main event is set to feature a match between CMLL’s Templario and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado.
Templario challenged Desperado to a match after he successfully defended his title in a 37-minute hardcore bout against Clark Connors earlier this month. The upcoming matchup offers another chance for the United Empire faction to claim the junior heavyweight title, as Templario aligned himself with the faction in recent months.
Desperado has prevailed in numerous big matches as part of his title run this year. The five-time champ hasn’t ever worked less than 20 minutes in his four past championship bouts this year, putting in long shifts to get by Francesco Akira, Kosei Fujita, and Taiji Ishimori.
The upcoming matchup provides a unique challenge to Desperado. While he has shared the ring with Templario as part of Fantastica Mania tours, the two have never collided in singles competition.
Junior tag titles, NJPW TV championship on the line
Earlier in the night, TMDK’s Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles will put their junior tag titles on the line against Master Wato and YOH. It’ll be their third time defending the belts since becoming champs at Wrestle Kingdom 19.
The card will also feature a rematch between Great-O-Khan and El Phantasmo for the NJPW World Television Championship. Phantasmo’s reign came to an end earlier this month at Sakura Genesis, albeit due to a count-out. He’ll try to become the second-ever two-time TV champ with a win in the upcoming bout.
