El Grande Americano walks away with the victory.
As the WWE WrestleMania 41 Countdown show ongoing, it was revealed that WWE acquired the Lucha Libre AAA promotion. Among those present for the announcement was former AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.
Vikingo was seated in the front row for the singles match between El Grande Americano and Rey Fenix. Originally, it was billed as El Grande versus Rey Mysterio but due to an injury Mysterio suffered on SmackDown, he was pulled from the bout and Fenix was slotted in.
A mariachi band played El Grande to the ring. He went over to Vikingo and shoved him. Vikingo retaliated and delivered a kick to El Grande.
During the match, El Grande slipped a metal plate in between his mask. Fenix delivered a kick to El Grande’s face but his foot took damage because of the metal object. There came a point in the bout when Fenix tried to springboard off the ropes but El Grande headbutted him. He went to the top rope and performed a flying headbutt to put Fenix away and give him his first singles loss in WWE.
Vikingo would make his way into the ring to check on Fenix.
