TNA iMPACT notes: Matt Cardona earns International Title shot, Sabu tribute, Indi Hartwell in action

Matt Cardona emerged victorious from a four-way match that included Ace Austin, Elijah and Mance Warner. With his win, he earned a shot at Steve Maclin’s TNA International Championship. Maclin is recovering from a minor skull fracture following his Dog Collar match against Eric Young.

A graphic was shown to commemorate the life of the late Terry Brunk (Sabu).

In the opening match, Nikkita Lyons teamed with Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich to take on Tessa Blanchard and Victoria Crawford. The match resulted in a disqualification after Slamovich beat Crawford and Blanchard with a chair. Director of Authority Santino Marella came out and restarted the match, but his decision was overrode by Robert Stone. Stone stated that the decision stands as Blanchard and Crawford being the winners via DQ.

The TNA in-ring debut of Indi Hartwell took place and she scored a win over Kelsey Heather. Afterwards, there was a backstage confrontation between Hartwell and Tasha Steelz.

Actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. guest appeared on First Cla$$ Penthouse with A.J. Francis and K.C. Navarro. An argument between Jackson Jr. and Francis broke out, but it was Mike Santana entering the picture and running off Navarro and Francis. Scheduled for the 5/22 program is First Cla$$ versus Santana and Sami Callihan.

After Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian faced off with Elijah and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, Santino Marella decided that instead of at Under Siege, their tag match would be taking place on TNA iMPACT. Robert Stone entered the mix and overrode Marella. It was then decided that Hendry and Elijah are going to be facing The System (Moose & Brian Myers) on 5/22.

Joining the lineup for 5/22 is the following:

  • Ace Austin vs. Mustafa Ali
  • Robert Stone & Santino Marella’s in-ring debate

In attendance for the show was former NBA player Tracy Murray.
