Nigel McGuinness and Daniel Garcia send a message to FTR
This week’s pre-taped edition of Collision from the Rio Rancho Events Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, opened with a contract signing for Sunday’s tag match between FTR and the makeshift babyface duo of Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGuinness.
FTR spent a fair amount of the segment toying with Garcia and McGuinness, urging them to rethink signing onto the match. Garcia cut a fired-up promo about how he’s fighting to stand up for those who are sick of FTR.
The segment ended with a quick preview of this weekend’s match, as a brawl broke out between the teams, with McGuinness jumping the former tag champs after repeatedly warning Dax Harwood that he didn’t want to be touched. The heels were sent retreating as Garcia and McGuinness stood tall.
Before the first match of the night, Toni Storm cut a promo on how she wants a good fight out of Mina Shirakawa this weekend. The video included footage of them together in STARDOM.

Don Callis Family starts night off with win
The Don Callis Family trio of Konosuke Takeshita, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta picked up a trios win in the first match of the night, overcoming Bandido and The Outrunners (going by “Los Outrunners” on this week’s episode).
Bandido and The Outrunners came close to winning this match, although they eventually lost grip of the fight, a momentum shift partially aided by Lance Archer attacking Bandido while the referee wasn’t looking. The Outrunners were taken out with stereo Meltzer Drivers to end the match.
A brief video package aired afterward where NJPW’s Gabe Kidd explained why he decided to help The Death Riders on last week’s episode of Dynamite.

Mercedes Moné defends TBS title against Reyna Isis
Mercedes Moné had a successful performance just a few days before her Owen Hart Tournament Final against Jamie Hayter this weekend, defending her TBS Championship against CMLL talent Reyna Isis. Isis had her own moments in the quick five-minute bout, at one point countering a top-rope move from Moné with a codebreaker. However, in the end, she succumbed to Moné’s Statement Maker submission.
Hayter, who will face Moné on Sunday at Double or Nothing, appeared on the stage after the match. The two were pulled apart by security as the broadcast went to a commercial break.
Paragon vs. Don Callis Family set for Sunday after both teams earn wins
Success continued for the Don Callis Family in the next match, as Kyle Fletcher scored a singles win against Jay Lethal. This was one of the matches that got some time on this show, as it took 11 minutes before a running head kick and then a brainbuster earned Fletcher the pinfall victory.
Josh Alexander and Konosuke Takeshita looked to further beat down on Lethal after the match, but had their attack stopped by guest commentator Adam Cole and Paragon, who stayed in the ring afterward for their match this week.
The Grizzled Young Vets (James Drake and Zack Gibson) came up short in their first AEW TV appearance since last October, losing to Paragon’s Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly.
This was a fun match with some quick double-team sequences throughout. The match concluded at the nine-minute mark after Strong and O’Reilly hit a high-low.
After the match, Cole suggested on commentary that a bout between Paragon and the Don Callis Family should happen soon. Moments later, it was confirmed that Cole, O’Reilly and Strong will meet Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander and Kyle Fletcher this Sunday at Double or Nothing.

The Don Callis Family finished up their night with a hat trick when Maple Leaf Pro Canadian Champion Josh Alexander defeated AR Fox. Alexander came close to finishing the bout early with an ankle lock, but was unsuccessful. Minutes later, he found the finish for real with a powerbomb into a C4 Spike piledriver in four minutes.
The co-main event was a fun showcase of CMLL talent, with Mascara Dorada, Mistco, and Templario getting a win over Magnus, Rugido and Volador Jr. Dorada closed out the match with an impressive sequence, scoring with a Poisonrana and then a Shooting Star Press onto Magnus for the pinfall victory.

Mike Bailey faces off with Kazuchika Okada after win
Collision closed out with a tag match that saw Mike Bailey team with Komander to face La Faccion Ingobernable’s Dralistico and Rush.
Dralistico got a jump on Bailey and Komander, attacking them from behind while Rush appeared on the entrance ramp before the match officially started. Bailey and Komander regained their composure a couple of minutes later, allowing them to score a pair of tope suicidas to the outside. However, they got a little too confident, trying for a third set of stereo topes, which Rush and Dralistico dodged.
Bailey found themselves isolated in the ring by La Faccion Ingobernable for a fair amount of the match after it returned from a break. Bailey eventually mounted a comeback, causing for a notable sequence where he scored a Triangle Moonsault to the outside, then Komander connected with his famous springboard dive to the outside. The babyfaces landed stereo Shooting Star Presses back in the ring, although they earned just a two-count from the move.
Bailey tagged in Komander, allowing him to come flying off the ropes with a Destroyer. Rush broke up a pin attempt just moments later, then took out both Komander and Bailey, allowing Dralistico to get back into the match.
Dralistico connected with a facebuster off the second rope, but Komander kicked out at two. Komander landed a Poisonrana then tagged in Bailey, who landed a spinning heel kick, then allowed Komander to connect with a springboard Shooting Star Press for the pinfall win.
Bailey’s opponent on Sunday, AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, made his way out to the ring afterward. Bailey looked for a handshake, but Okada instead flipped him off.
Bailey sent Okada out of the ring with a kick, then did a dive to the outside. “Speedball” posed with Okada’s title as the show went off air.
