AEW put on a late media scrum after its Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday.
The most notable comment that was made was when Tony Khan was asked how he felt about “other companies scheduling events on top of and around yours on a consistent basis.”
Khan answered: “Pretty consistent. I’d say it’s the most consistent event head-to-head scheduling I’ve seen since Jim Crockett Promotions. A lot of scheduling went that way. And I can tell you this will go a lot differently than that did.”
Hangman Adam Page
Tony Khan emerged a few minutes after 1am ET along with a visibly emotional Adam Page. Page said he had been afraid that he would never “even get close” to the World Title picture again.
Asked for a message to his fans, Page said he just wanted to say thank you to fans who had backed him since ‘Being The Elite’.
Page noted that he had never been an established star anywhere else, which he said meant that AEW was a huge success.
Mercedes Moné
Next out was Mercedes Moné. She spoke fully in character.
When asked about being called out by Athena, she said knew where to find her, and that Athena was “legit” one of the best.
Bandido
ROH World Champion Bandido was introduced. He put over the impending visit of AEW to Mexico for Grand Slam 2025. When asked who he would like to defend his title against, he mentioned Mascara Dorada.
Tony Khan then said Dorada would face Bandido at Arena Mexico for the ROH title on the Tuesday before Grand Slam.
Toni Storm
Toni Storm was carried in by Luther. As usual, she was fully in her ‘Timeless’ character. She said he had never met Mercedes Moné. She mentioned frequently that she had a big bottom. Tony Khan mentioned that, although Storm hadn’t been a part of AEW since the beginning, she had been a huge part of AEW’s six years.
Tony Khan
Khan started by paying tribute to Renee Paquette, who introduced him. He said the wrestlers were the “lifeblood” of AEW and of pro wrestling.
Asked about Scorpio Sky, Khan said he liked him. He said he had talked to Sky about ideas, but things had gone in another direction and had “not worked out” for various reasons. He said he would like to use Sky for another idea, “when the time is right”.
On visiting different locations, Khan mentioned that All Out is going to Toronto and Forbidden Door is going to the UK. He confirmed that the Dean 3 tribute show would take place at the 2300 Arena.
He said Double or Nothing was a “wire to wire” show, and could not pick out one specific special moment.
Khan said that either the men’s or women’s World Title match would be a worthy main event for All In Texas.
Asked about Will Ospreay, he said his arrival has been one of the most significant events in the company’s history. He would be on a Mount Rushmore of people who came into his life at the right time.
He was asked about “other companies” scheduling events against AEW shows.
Khan said it was the most consistently it had been happening since the days of Jim Crockett promotions, but that “this will go a lot differently than that did.”
