Monday Night Morgan

Monday Night Raw from Green Bay, WI, kicked off with Liv Morgan and Dominik coming down to the ring. Notably, Corey Graves was Michael Cole’s broadcast partner, with Pat McAfee unavailable. Morgan said that Nikki Bella learned the hard way last week, and she was the greatest Women’s Tag Team Champion of all time. Morgan said that she deserved another shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship, as she had never been given a rematch. This brought out Iyo Sky, who said that Morgan would have to earn a title shot. Sky then threw the Championship at Liv and hit her with a dropkick. Dominik got a hook kick to the head as well for good measure.

Queen of the Ring Fatal 4-Way First Round Match

The first match of the night was a Fatal 4-way between Stephanie Vaquer, Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, and the returning Asuka (who got her classic theme song back). Backstage, before the match, Liv Morgan gave Raquel Rodriguez a pep talk, saying that first, she wins the Fatal 4-way, then they take care of Kairi later. Vaquer and Asuka were the big draws in this match, with the crowd reacting strongly to both. Raquel Rodriguez hit the Tahana Bomb on Ivy Nile, but Rhea Ripley appeared and hit the Riptide on her, throwing her back in and allowing Asuka to hit her new finisher “The Empress Impact” and pick up the win. Asuka goes on to face Alexa Bliss in the Semifinals this Friday on SmackDown.

Later in the back, Raquel told Liv she wasn’t cleared, so that she couldn’t help out with Kairi. This upset Liv, and she stormed off. JD McDonagh then questioned Dominik as to why he’s facing AJ Styles tonight when he and Finn were supposed to be going after the tag titles. Dominik said that Finn was supposed to take care of Styles a few weeks ago, but failed. Finn suggested that Dominik go to the ring with JD to make sure everything goes smoothly. Finn then told Raquel not to worry and that she’s doing great. Finn then took Roxanne Perez off to discuss an idea he had.

Yes, That Guy

Out next was the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. Gunther talked about “all the rumors” of what was next for him as the crowd chanted “Goldberg,” to which Gunther replied, “No, not that guy, I cast him out in front of his family”. He then turned his attention to Seth Rollins, saying that he was right here. This brought out the returning Goldberg, who said he was there to celebrate Gunther winning the title. Gunther got right to the point, challenging Gunther for July 12th at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta.

AJ Styles vs. JD McDonagh

Next up was The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh with Dominik in his corner, taking on AJ Styles. At one point in the match, Styles started chasing Dominik around the ringside area, allowing McDonagh to hit a big splash onto Styles in the timekeeper’s area. After a commercial break, Dominik tried to distract Styles again, but Styles hit the Flash Clash on McDonagh for the win. Dominik and Styles started brawling after the match, but Finn appeared and saved Dominik. AJ made off with the Intercontinental Championship as the segment ended.

Backstage, Alpha Academy and Natlya approached Sheamus, telling him to take care of Rusev for them. Bayley was also shown walking backstage, and she ran into The New Day and A-Town Down Under arguing yet again.

Do You Remember What Gold Feels Like?

Next up, Bayley was out (unfortunately still with her current theme) and talked about losing out on the chance to contend for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania. Bayley continued, saying that Becky taking her out made her stronger, and she was coming for her, calling her out then and there. Becky obliged and appeared in Chicago Bears gear, trolling the Green Bay crowd. Lynch told Bayley that she accepts being second fiddle, but she does not. Bayley theorized that Becky took her and Lyra out because she was insecure about whether the crowd would cheer or boo her. Becky asked Bayley if she remembered what gold feels like, and Bayley said no. Becky then agreed to a match but said it would be in Columbus. Becky then attempted to slap Bayley but got nailed instead.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley called last week a “minor setback” for Jey Uso. Jey said that he and Gunther would run it back as it was tied one win apiece. A short while later, AJ Styles returned the IC title to Nick Aldis, and Aldis announced that the match with him and Dom was official for Night of Champions. Bayley then approached and made Bayley vs. Becky Lynch for the Women’s IC title next week on Raw. Lyra Valkyria appeared and was upset that Bayley was going after “her” title.

Liv Morgan Injured

This match began, and immediately, Liv Morgan seemed to injure her shoulder on a simple take-down. After the break, the match was called off, and the replay was shown multiple times. Later, it was announced that she had dislocated her shoulder.

Backstage, Cathy Kelly congratulated Sami Zayn on his win last week and asked about facing Randy Orton this Friday on SmackDown. Karrion Kross interrupted and called Sami insane for doing the same thing over and over, and he would lose to Orton on Friday. Sami called Kross a coward who couldn’t back up his words. Sami concluded by saying that when King of the Ring was done, he was going to face Kross in a match. Kross responded, “It’s about time”.

King of the Ring Fatal 4-Way First Round Match

The main event of the evening was the King of the Ring Fatal 4-Way with Jey Uso taking on Rusev, Sheamus, and Bronson Reed. Reed was out with Paul Heyman, who was carrying Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase with him. Jey Uso still had his ribs taped from the Tsunami from Reed several weeks ago. Rusev and Sheamus were a focus of this match, with Rusev blaming Sheamus for some of the “darkest days” of his career. The match went back and forth between all four men until, all of a sudden, it escalated into high gear, with finishing moves being hit all around. Jey had the match won when Bron Breakker appeared, knocking Jey off the top rope. Sami Zayn then appeared and started brawling with Breakker. Penta then appeared and took out Breakker. Reed then went for the Tsunami on Jey, but LA Knight appeared, and Jey Uso hit the spear and two Uso Splashes on Reed for the win.

Jey will go on to face Cody Rhodes next week on Raw. Seth Rollins then showed up and went to attack a prone Jey Uso when Cody Rhodes showed up and had a staredown with Rollins before Rollins backed off. Rhodes and Uso shook hands in the ring as the show went off the air.
