WWE SmackDown finished first among all television programs this past Friday in the key demographic.

The June 20 episode of SmackDown from Grand Rapids averaged 1,524,000 viewers and 510,000 viewers (0.38) in the 18-49 demographic on the USA Network.

The overall audience grew by nine percent while the 18-49 demographic was identical to the week prior. It led to SmackDown topping all programming on broadcast and cable television for the night, edging past NBC’s airing of “Jaws” (3,261,000 viewers and 0.31 in the demo.

On cable, SmackDown outranked multiple programs on Fox News and a FIFA Club soccer game on TBS for the top slot.

This represented SmackDown’s largest audience since April 25 and was aided by the lack of NBA and NHL playoff competition, which have concluded for the year.

In the 18-49 demographic, SmackDown saw a small increase in males from 316,000 to 323,000 viewers this week. Females in the demo experienced a seven percent decline to 180,000 viewers.

The three-hour show featured the semi-final matches in the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments, a rare match involving John Cena on television.
