Ben Askren has posted his first public message since undergoing a double lung transplant and battling for his life.
Askren was hospitalized after a staph infection led to severe pneumonia while relying on a ventilator and ECMO.

On Wednesday, the former fighter posted a video message from his hospital bed. Askren said he has no memory between May 28 and July 2.
He weighed himself this week and was 147 pounds, which he has not weighed since he was fifteen years old.
Amy Askren, his wife, kept a journal during this time and shared it with Ben, who thanked everyone for their thoughts during this period. He compared it to attending his own funeral and reminded him of when Olympic gold medalist Dave Schultz died in 1996 and the outpouring that followed, which Schultz never got to see for himself.
Askren said he may post a future message with Amy and go through the entire set of circumstances they went through.
