Three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler is trying out a behind-the-scenes role in the promotion.
Baszler produced the match between Kelani Jordan and Lainey Reid on Tuesday’s episode of NXT, as first reported by Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp later backed up the story, noting that WWE is testing Baszler as a producer and nothing “permanent” has been decided yet.
The news is coming out just a few months after Baszler was released from her WWE deal, ending an eight-year run as an active wrestler on their roster.
Baszler worked as a WWE talent from 2017 to 2025, starting out in NXT before moving up to the main roster by 2020. She was last seen on WWE programming earlier this year as part of the Pure Fusion Collective, a faction alongside Zoey Stark and Sonya Deville.
It now looks like Baszler has another opportunity in WWE, albeit in a different role.
