Hangman Page wins insane Texas Death Match to unseat Moxley as the AEW-vengers assemble

Hangman Page has ended the reign of terror of the Death Riders in a stunning Texas Death Match.

As if Adam Page was not enough of a babyface, he emerged to his old theme as Excalibur told us Page was the son of a farmer who worked summers alongside immigrants, learning respect for his fellow man.

Moxley then came in on the back of a pickup truck, alongside the rest of the Death Riders.

After the bell, the blood started to flow in virtually no time as Hangman Page repeatedly jabbed a fork into Moxley’s forehead.

Moxley soon retaliated by jamming barbed wire into Hangman’s head. Marina Shafir immediately followed up by biting the challenger.

Still less than 10 minutes into the match a chair covered in barbed wire was introduced. As Hangman wound up the chair, Moxley kicked it into his face.

Moxley then instructed Shafir to grab a bucket of broken glass from under the ring. Moxley smashed some into Hangman’s face before dragging him through it as the crowd chanted, “You sick f–k.”

Page then took a piledriver onto the glass, but was able to beat a 10-count.

A pair of chairs were then set up, back to back. The pair fought in the corner before Page was able to deliver a slam on Moxley to the chairs.

Page then delivered a pair of lariats with his arm wrapped in barbed wire but Wheeler Yuta interfered before the challenger could capitalize.

Hangman got rid of Yuta, and then, as Shafir once again interfered, put her through a table.

Next up to attack were Claudio Castagnoli and Gabe Kidd. They and a recovered Yuta looked set to put Page through a table when Will Ospreay came to the rescue. Unfortunately, the numbers game was against him. The Death Riders wrapped a chair around Ospreay’s neck and Castagnoli delivered a stomp.

Ospreay was then stretchered out.

The carnage continued as both competitors went through a pair of barbed wire-covered tables.

Back in the ring, Moxley hit a Gotch-style piledriver and a choke. Moxley raised his arms as the count was delivered. However, Page stumbled to his feet at nine.

The infamous plastic bag was then brought into the ring.

At this point, Darby Allin appeared on screen. As the heels shrugged off the distraction, a masked Bryan Danielson arrived to get revenge on the Death Riders.

While this was happening, Darby Allin rappelled from the top of the stadium roof, soon delivering a Coffin Drop onto the heels.

As Allin and Danielson dealt with the rest of the Death Riders, Page delivered a Dead Eye to Moxley through a table, but Shafir dragged him to his feet.

Next, the Young Bucks appeared and hit Page with the EVP Trigger.

A bed of nails was then introduced to the ring. Moxley delivered the Paradigm Shift onto the nails.

Hangman again stumbled to his feet right before the 10-count.

At this point, Moxley ordered Shafir to grab the briefcase containing the Championship belt. As she grabbed it, Prince Nana handcuffed her to a ringside desk.

Swerve Strickland then appeared and tossed a chain to Page. Hangman wrapped it around Moxley’s neck before delivering a Buckshot Lariat to Moxley, who landed on the bed of nails. He then hanged Moxley using the chain until Moxley submitted.

The show ended with Page freeing the AEW World Championship belt from its case and hoisting it in the air.

This was as batshit crazy as it sounds, and it was absolutely tremendous.
