The retirement of Bill Goldberg saw Saturday Night’s Main Event rank first in prime time despite the program’s lowest viewership since its return to NBC.

This past Saturday’s two-hour event in Atlanta averaged 1,425,000 viewers and 0.33 in the 18-49 demographic on NBC and doesn’t include streaming viewership on Peacock.

The show averaged a 0.23 in the 18-34 demographic

The viewership was down twenty-eight percent from the May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which delivered a 0.54 rating in the 18-49 demographic, featuring John Cena vs. Ron Killings and Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest in a steel cage match.

In the 18-49 demo, male viewership dropped from 0.67 in May to 0.36 this past week, while females fell from 0.41 to 0.30.

Despite the lower figures, WWE still ranked first in prime time among all programming in the 18-49 demographic, ahead of Major League Baseball on Fox and the UFC Fight Night prelims on ESPN.

In the half-hour breakdown on Programming Insider, the final thirty minutes of the broadcast were the peak in overall viewership, the 18-49 demographic, and the  25-54 demo for the Gunther vs. Bill Goldberg match.

In 18-34, both the first and final thirty minutes of the show averaged a 0.23. The first half hour included Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton with the involvement of Jelly Roll and Logan Paul.

Past episodes:

May 24: 1,969,000 viewers (0.54 in 18-49)

January 25: 1,494,000 viewers (0.33 in 18-49)

December 14: 1,590,000 viewers (0.42 in 18-49)
