Just days after appearing at AEW All In: Texas, STARDOM vet Syuri is planning to undergo elbow surgery.

“I’m having surgery this month on my elbow, which has been hurting for a while,” Syuri said in an Instagram Story post, per a translation posted by meraWRESTLING.

It’s currently unclear how severe Syuri’s elbow troubles are, or how long a surgery would put her out of action.

The news comes less than a week after she competed in AEW’s Women’s Casino Gauntlet match, her first-ever time wrestling on an event for the promotion.

Syuri’s arrival was teased just one night prior with a video package during ROH Supercard of Honor 2025.

The Japanese former UFC fighter is best known for her work in STARDOM, where she has primarily wrestled since 2020. Syuri held the IWGP Women’s Champonship earlier this year, earning it off Mayu Iwatani and defending it once before dropping the belt to Sareee last month.

Syuri noted in a social media post earlier this week that she is heading back to Japan following her appearance in Texas last weekend.
