Mustafa Ali shared an update after a scary dive executed at TNA Slammiversary.
With Cedric Alexander’s back turned and dealing with Ali’s entourage on the floor, Ali executed a suicide dive and came down at a dangerous angle, and immediately grabbed his head. The performer got to his feet and continued the match without any signs of injury.
Online, criticism was levied toward Ali’s Secret Service members for missing Ali, and the performer came to their defense and took sole blame for the spot going awry:
Appreciate everyone’s concern. Unfortunately, I have to pull the curtain back here because the talent ringside was absolutely not responsible for that scary fall in any way and they are getting all the blame. They did exactly what they were instructed to do. I tried to do a variation of a dive and simply slipped off my opponent. No one to blame but me. I am all good.
The match continued with Tasha Steelz returning to the ring after an ejection, leading to Alexander hitting Steelz with a Lumbar Check and Ali capitalizing with a 450 splash to pin Alexander.
It was their first 1-on-1 match since the pre-show of WrestleMania 34 in 2018.
