United States President Donald Trump has reacted to the death of Hulk Hogan.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump stated:
We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!
Hogan, who died on Thursday morning, aligned himself with Trump and the MAGA movement in recent times.
Hogan’s association with Donald Trump dates back to the late 1980s, when Trump-owned properties hosted major WWE events.
Trump Plaza in Atlantic City was the venue for both WrestleMania IV in 1988 and WrestleMania V in 1989. Hogan competed in the main event of both shows, which were presented as taking place at the hotel and casino.
The two appeared on-screen together multiple times during this period, including in a joint interview with then-host Gene Okerlund at WrestleMania IV.
Over the years, Hogan often spoke favorably of Trump. Their relationship re-entered the spotlight following Trump’s entry into politics.
