Chad Gable has confirmed the nature of the injury that has sidelined him from WWE programming.
He was attending a Minnesota Twins baseball game on Sunday and gave a brief interview to Twins TV.
Looking on the bright side, he said:
Unfortunate circumstances, but you know what? I’m looking at the silver lining here. I got a little injury to my rotator cuff, but what it did do was buy me some time off the road to be home with my family and do stuff like this — come to a baseball game on a Sunday — which I never get to do.
He was asked for highlights of his career that he was most proud of. Referring to his appearance as El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41 in a match against Rey Fenix, he said:
Back in April, I had my first singles match at WrestleMania. So in WWE terms, that’s like the end-all, be-all show, right? And so that was kind of a crowning moment so far in my WWE career.

The El Grande Americano character has been continued in Gable’s absence by Ludvig Kaiser.
A timeline for Gable’s return to in-ring action is still not clear. He underwent surgery in early July.
