AEW wrapped its six-night stay at the Aragon Ballroom by crowning a new TNT champion in the main event.

NEW TNT CHAMPION
The show was promoted around a Chicago Street Fight for the championship as Dustin Rhodes defended the title against Kyle Fletcher. It was a violent blowoff, utilizing tables, chairs, thumbtacks, and a screwdriver as the weapons of choice.
The result saw Fletcher use a Brainbuster onto the tacks and pin Rhodes, ending his short reign after 2 ½ weeks. Fletcher was scheduled to challenge Adam Cole for the title at All In Texas, but a health issue forced Cole out of the match, and an impromptu four-way match was booked for the vacant belt, and Rhodes won the title on July 12.
The highlights of the match saw both men bleed and Rhodes executing several Canadian Destroyers, including one off the turnbuckle through a table. Fletcher hit a Tombstone to Rhodes on two unfolded chairs, and later, Rhodes put on a glove full of thumbtacks and applied the Iron Claw.
After tacks were placed into the trunks of Fletcher, Rhodes hit Shattered Dreams, but the challenger survived. Callis handed the screwdriver to Fletcher, who stabbed Rhodes in the knee and stuck the weapon into the knee pad.
Rhodes worked incredibly hard, and both men had a terrific main event, ending with Fletcher getting the title.
After, Fletcher continued to attack Rhodes’ knee, and he was taken out on a stretcher.

FTR, BRODIDO ADVANCE IN ELIMINATOR TOURNAMNET
Brody King & Bandido won the final quarterfinal match of the eliminator tournament by beating GOA (Gates of Agony) in the opener.
Bandido sold throughout the break, and the crowd went wild for King’s entry into the match. King would hit a cannonball to Toa Leona and a Death Valley Driver to Leona on the edge of the apron.
The pair won after Bandido was hoisted in the air by King’s feet and into a 450 splash, landing on Kaun to win and advance.
Brodido will face the Young Bucks this Wednesday on Dynamite in the semi-final.
FTR moved to the finals after beating Juice Robinson & Austin Gunn.
They beat on Gunn for most of the match, building to a hot tag for Robinson to enter. They had a heated crowd in Chicago, who bit on multiple near-falls by Robinson.
Dax attempted to get the pin by grabbing Big Stoke’s crutch, but was caught by the referee. The Bang Bang Gang landed FTR’s Power & Glory to Dax when Wheeler saved.
Robinson hit the Blade Runner for a two-count. The last portion saw Robinson connect with the Left Hand of God and Gunn hit the Famouser to Dax when Wheeler made another save.
The referee was distracted as Gunn had the cover, Wheeler hit a clothesline, and allowed Dax to reverse and score the cover.
Both tag matches were entertaining and worth seeing.
DARBY ALLIN TRIES TO MURDER JON MOXLEY
There was a show-long series of scenes where the BCC were stalking Darby Allin and trying to find him in the Aragon Ballroom.
In a darkened room, the door shut, and Moxley was left alone with Allin, who choked him and later in the show, proceeded to take him onto a fire escape by the train tracks and was about to send him off the escape and to his death. The security intervened and allowed Moxley to live.
This wasn’t announced for Forbidden Door, but it was made clear that it’s coming soon.

LET’S GO MAX, YOU’RE THE BEST WRESTLER ALIVE
Max Caster finally survived the five-minute challenge as opponent Rush had no idea what concept he was participating in and was confused when the time limit expired.
Rush destroyed Caster during the match and after, including the scariest looking Bull’s Horns you will see.
The story of the match was that the crowd was completely behind Caster and chanting, “Let’s Go Max, You’re The Best Alive”.
LFI was chased away by JetSpeed and AR Fox, leaving Caster lying on the mat and raising his fist in the air for the audience.
Earlier in the show, Billy Gunn told Anthony Bowens he’s going home and doesn’t know who Bowens is anymore. Bowens took issue with Gunn protecting Caster last week, and by the end of Collision, it felt like the double turn was largely complete involving the former tag partners.
.@PlatinumMax has some choice words for the Chicago crowd AND @Bowens_Official!

PENTAGON OF MADNESS
Thekla beat Willow Nightingale after Julia Hart and Skye Blue distracted Nightingale as she attempted the Babe with the Powerbomb. Thekla capitalized with a spear and a stomp to win the match.
It was a 3-on-1 beatdown of Nightingale when Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne joined the attack to work alongside the Triangle of Madness.
The five women were stopped when Queen Aminata, Anna Jay, and Tay Melo ran down carrying weapons to save Nightingale.

*MJF vs. Mark Briscoe
*Mercedes Moné returns
FINAL THOUGHTS
Three very strong matches came with my recommendation, and the three were unique in themselves.
The main event was a violent match with lots of blood and weapons, but the two were excellent in the presentation, and it provided a lot of sympathy for Rhodes as the Chicago crowd rooted for him. There are not many fifty-six-year-old wrestlers who can pull off a performance like that.
There were also multiple announcements for Forbidden Door, which made this a more newsworthy edition of Collision than usual, and there was another strong crowd in Chicago.
