The Pinellas County Forensic Science Center has released the official cause of death involving Terry Bollea a.k.a. Hulk Hogan.

The Hollywood Reporter has a story citing the medical examiner’s report that Bollea died from a heart attack last Thursday at age 71.

The story contains new information that Bollea had a history of atrial fibrillation and CLL (Chronic lymphocytic leukemia). Bollea had not disclosed his battle with cancer previously.

He wrestled consistently from 1977 until 2003 and worked select matches over the next decade while transitioning to on-screen roles, which didn’t involve wrestling.

The toll on Bollea’s body from in-ring wrestling was immense, with the performer undergoing approximately twenty-five back surgeries, according to his daughter Brooke in an IG post earlier this week.

In 2013, Bollea sued the Laser Spine Institute for $50 million for performing an endoscopic surgery on his back, which he claimed created more problems than having a traditional spinal surgery, which the institute advised against. In 2019, the Laser Spine Institute shut down, citing lawsuits and financial problems.

Bollea is survived by his children, Brooke and Nick, and wife Sky.
