TNA Wrestling’s Carlos Silva remains focused on delivering a new TV deal for the promotion.

For weeks, Silva has discussed how a media rights deal in the U.S. could be significant for the company, giving them the opportunity to once again go live each week with Impact and start to focus on profitability.

A deal hasn’t emerged for the company yet, although Silva says the company is still working hard to get one done. The TNA President recently spoke to Denice Salcedo about how they hope to find something by the fall.

“It’s going great, but it’s only going to be great when we dot the I’s and cross the T’s,” Silva told Salcedo. “You don’t really get any wins to talk about it, you don’t get any wins to say it’s exciting. Are there a lot of conversations going on? Yes. Are they going well? Yes. But I will tell you, like I tell my colleagues inside of TNA, it doesn’t matter until it’s done. So, we continue to sort of work through it. August is always a tough month in the media landscape to get deals done, there’s a lot of people travelling, a lot of vacations. We kind of try to keep moving the ball forward every week. And I think as we get through August and into the fall, we’ll get a TV deal done. And I put TV deal in quotes, too, because [in] today’s world, TV is not just TV. It’s everything we’ve got. It’s how we package it all up so we create the biggest audience both for our fans but also for potential sponsors as well as our investors. We’re working hard at it. I feel good about it, but I won’t sleep until it’s done.”

It was recently reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer that there were rumors of The CW and A&E having interest in a deal with TNA. When recently asked by PWInsider about these possible landing spots, Silva said he “can’t really say anything about the rumors.” (H/T Fightful)

Impact currently airs in the U.S. on AXS TV, a cable channel owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, which also owns TNA. The brand struck a deal beginning this year to broadcast Impact on Sportsnet in Canada, moving the show to another company’s channel after previously airing it on the Anthem-owned Fight Network.
