TNA Wrestling is reportedly exploring moving its flagship Impact show to Wednesday nights as part of ongoing US media rights negotiations.

The story was first reported by Jon Alba of SI.com. According to Alba, the company is in discussions with several platforms, with a deal anticipated by October of this year.

The CW and A&E are said to be two of the networks involved in the discussions. A move from Thursday to Wednesday nights could place TNA in direct competition with AEW Dynamite.

TNA President Carlos Silva told SI.com that the current active market, which has seen recent deals for WWE and UFC, has created “positive momentum” in their own negotiations. While Silva did not confirm a potential move to Wednesdays, he stated that any decision would be based on what is best for TNA, not on creating direct competition.

Sources indicated to SI.com that The CW’s interest in TNA is legitimate.

Both The CW (WWE NXT) and A&E (various WWE-produced biography shows) currently have programming relationships with WWE.

In the United States, TNA’s programming currently airs on AXS TV and the TNA+ streaming application.
