Dana White shuts down report of potential UFC APEX expansion

Pump the brakes on a potential 10,000-person capacity UFC APEX.

Earlier this month, a report suggested that UFC had plans to greatly expand its “APEX” venue in Las Vegas, Nevada, adding as many as 5,000 to 10,000 seats in the venue. The studio currently has a capacity of roughly 1,000.

However, comments on late Saturday night from UFC CEO Dana White strongly denied such reports, putting to bed the idea that the promotion will transform the building into an arena.

“That was the biggest bulls*** story ever written,” White said during the UFC 319 post-fight press conference. “It’s f****** unbelievable. They quoted people that literally said nothing to them, never spoke to them or anything. That entire story was an absolute bulls*** lie.”

UFC has utilized the APEX for nine Fight Night cards earlier this year, and plans to use it at least one more time before 2025 comes to a close.

The location is also used for UFC’s other programming, including Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter. Events from WWE, Street League Skateboarding (SLS), and Power Slap have also been hosted in the location.

The APEX already underwent some renovations earlier this year, making the building “enlarged” but not causing too many drastic changes.

“Visually, it’s going to be pretty much the same,” UFC’s Marc Ratner told MMA Junkie in January. “It’s like a big TV studio.”
