Je’Von Evans will challenge for the NXT Championship at Heatwave this Sunday after beating Trick Williams.
NXT ventured on the road on Tuesday, broadcasting from The Met in Philadelphia with a final tally by WrestleTix of 1,656 tickets distributed.
RESULTS:
*Philadelphia Street Fight: Josh Briggs over Yoshiki Inamura (Recommended)
*Ricky Saints over Jasper Troy
*Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx over The Elegance Brand
*#1 Contender’s Match: Je’Von Evans over Trick Williams
In the main event, Evans pinned Trick Williams to earn the title shot against Oba Femi this Sunday at Heatwave.
The major spot in the match saw Evans attempt a springboard and was shoved off the top and through the announcer’s desk on the floor. Williams was in control, setting up for the Trick Shot when Mike Santana appeared on the balcony to distract, and Evans hit a cutter and another off the top to pin the TNA champion.

A mixed tag match was added to Heatwave following the “Peace Treaty” segment with Ethan Page & Chelsea Green meeting with Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele. The segment broke down into a shouting match, with Ava appearing and booking the match for Sunday.
It was a lengthy segment where Heights and Steele had a lot of promo time and relied on a lot of babyface clichés and heavily played to the audience in Philadelphia. They had to overcome an audience that was really behind Green and chanting for her when she began to speak. Heights still has a ways to go with his promos, but Steele displayed a lot of natural charisma and just needs more opportunities to speak.

Josh Briggs defeated Yoshiki Inamura in a fantastic Philadelphia Street Fight. This was significantly better than the Raw version the night before between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker.
Briggs did color after a trash can was placed over his head, and Inamura struck him with a baseball bat. Inamura had wounds all over his body from the kendo stick shots, and it was a very physical match with the weapons they used.
After Briggs hit a lariat with a chain wrapped around his arm, he hit a moonsault through a table to pin Inamura.

Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe had a final face-to-face before their match at Heatwave, where Monroe had a contract preventing Grace from laying a hand on her.
It was rather amusing to hear Grace explain how friendships usually end badly in pro wrestling, but she thought she and Monroe would be the exception. Yes, that magical week at the spa gave her hope.
She spoke about her insecurities and the tough adjustment to joining WWE, to Monroe exploited those things.
When Monroe came out, Grace pointed out that it was Monroe at ringside watching Grace wrestle at Evolution, and in fact, Monroe is jealous of her. Instead of attacking Monroe, Grace took out the security guards who accompanied Monroe. Then, she grabbed Monroe by the wrist (isn’t the match off?) and told Monroe that she’s going to show her “what ugly really looks like at Heatwave”.
Joe Hendry had the most useless cameo in recent memory when DarkState was speaking about Ava about their tag title shot against Hank & Tank this Sunday. They mentioned Hendry, who popped out of a closet and ended with Cutler James warning Hendry, “You don’t want us behind you,” and one of the DarkState yelled off-screen why James had to word it that way. This was useless and made Hendry feel like the court jester of the program.
