“Filthy” Tom Lawlor had a successful hip surgery this week and is now on the road to recovery.

A recent update provided by the Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, who co-hosts a show with Lawlor, noted that the ex-MMA fighter’s hip surgery went as planned.

“Filthy Tom’s hip surgery was a success and he’s currently recovering, continued best wishes to him,” Alvarez wrote on Tuesday.

Former UFC fighter turned professional wrestler Lawlor has been out of the ring since May. He noted earlier this year that he went on an indefinite hiatus due to injury, describing in late June that he would need work done on his hip. While the possibility of a hip replacement was previously noted, it’s unclear whether that’s the surgery he had recently.

38-year-old Lawlor was active prior to his hiatus in recent months, wrestling 15 times in the first half of 2025. He has been a frequent figure in MLW over the past few years, including an appearance at the promotion’s annual Battle Riot card in April.
