The TNA World Championship match at Bound for Glory was confirmed during Thursday’s live edition of Impact Wrestling.

In the opening segment, authority figure Santino Marella announced that Mike Santana will receive the title against Trick Williams at the pay-per-view on October 12.

Williams won the championship on May 25 from Joe Hendry and headlined one of TNA’s biggest shows in its history at Slammiversary in July against Hendry and Santana.

It was stated during the segment that Williams was not going to show up in TNA until he had to defend the title, so Santana stated he would go to “his turf”, hinting at Santana popping up at NXT and using that platform to promote the match.

Bound for Glory will air from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Massachusetts.
