Family Reunion

Monday Night Raw from Milwaukee kicked off with Jimmy and Jey Uso entering through the crowd together. Notable was the commentary team of Joe Tessitore and Corey Graves, with Wade Barrett on vacation. Jey started talking, and Bronson & Breakker interrupted immediately. The foursome went back and forth, trading barbs, before Jimmy revealed that they had gone to Adam Pearce, and they would square off in two weeks at Wrestlepalooza. La Knight then jumped Bron and Bronson from behind, and a brawl ensued with The Usos getting in on the action as well. The faces fought off the heels, and Jey and Knight argued as the segment came to an end.

Backstage, LA Knight was arguing with Adam Pearce, with Knight upset that he didn’t have a match with either of The Brons. Later, it was announced that Knight would get a match against Bronson Reed later tonight in the main event. Pearce must be learning from Aldis and not having main events set up until the show starts. 

AJ Styles vs. El Grande Americano

Next up was AJ Styles seeking revenge on El Grande Americano. During the ad break, Styles cut a promo saying that someone didn’t want him in WWE and he was alone with Gallows & Anderson gone and Michin on SmackDown. El Grande Americano was then out with a new theme song as AJ Styles jumped him before the bell. Both men got into the ring, and Styles clotheslined Americano out of the ring, and that’s when the referee rang the bell for some reason. AJ set up for the Phenomenal Forearm when a second Americano appeared, holding his legs and allowing Americano to get the advantage. This time, the second Americano hung around in the first’s corner instead of running off. 

Styles and Americano went back and forth until “Dos,” as they were calling him, attempted to get involved. Dragon Lee ran down and took the second Americano out, and AJ Styles reversed a roll-up into the Styles Clash for the win. 

Backstage, Adam Pearce informed Iyo Sky that Stephanie Vaquer couldn’t attend Raw tonight, so he had to cancel the contract signing. Nikki Bella then approached, complimenting Iyo when Asuka and Kairi interrupted, telling Nikki to stay away from Iyo. Asuka challenged her to a match tonight, and Nikki accepted. 

An AJ Lee promo package aired, highlighting her long history with WWE. 

Lyra Valkyria vs. Raquel Rodriguez

Next, Lyra Valkyria took on Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez, accompanied by Roxanne Perez. The two women traded intense-looking submission maneuvers as the momentum in the matchup swung back and forth. Valkyria then performed an impressive physical feat, attempting a sunset flip off the second rope, but Rodriguez wouldn’t budge. Valkyria muscled herself back up onto the top of Rodriguez and executed a powerbomb. Roxanne then attempted to get involved but got knocked off the apron by Valkyria. Lyra then set up for a top rope leg drop, but Rodriguez caught her and hit the Tejana Bomb for the win. This match was pretty darn good. Not quite the “recommended” level, but better than expected.

Backstage, the War Raiders told Penta that they had his back. Adam Pearce then approached, and Penta asked for a title shot against Dominik Mysterio. Rusev then interrupted and called Penta a clown. Pearce said that fighting backstage got “everyone a fine” (which… huh? It does? Every time?) and suggested they have a match tonight, marking the third match that Pearce threw together last minute for this show. 

During the ad break, The New Day and Grayson Waller did their schtick about banning Penta’s Mexican Destroyer. Backstage, AJ Styles thanked Dragon Lee for helping him earlier in the night. Jimmy Uso approached and said hello to Styles and Lee. Jimmy then caught up with Jey, who was leaving the building. Jimmy said they had a “play to run” tonight with LA Knight taking on Bronson Reed. Jey said he wouldn’t help Knight, and Jimmy said he sounded like Roman. Jey said, sounding like himself wasn’t working, and stormed out. 

AJ Lee Returns to Raw

AJ Lee was out next to a big reaction, wearing Becky Lynch’s Intercontinental Championship. AJ said that she retired ten years ago and went on a mental health journey, and she had to take care of herself. She said she went to therapy, which got a cheer and a “therap” chant from the crowd. AJ said that it wasn’t easy, but the fight was worth it, and “you are worth it”. She was watching Monday Night Raw, and once Becky physically attacked CM Punk, she had to come back. This brought out the aforementioned Becky Lynch. 

Becky ran down the Milwaukee crowd, and AJ Lee and Lee challenged her to come get her title.  Becky called Seth Rollins out, and he said he could handle it as Becky was freaking out. AJ proposed a mixed tag match between the two couples, but Rollins declined and attempted to take the belt himself, but AJ blocked him. CM Punk then appeared and attempted a GTS, but Rollins escaped. Rollins then accepted the mixed tag proposal for Wrestlepalooza, and AJ tossed the IC belt back to Becky as the segment ended. 

After a commercial break, another Bayley promo aired with the voices in her head still talking to her, telling her to talk to Lyra Valkyria. Bayley said she would make it right. 

Penta vs. Rusev 

The next match was Penta taking on Rusev. This match went on for almost seven minutes before The New Day and Grayson Waller appeared, distracting Penta and allowing Rusev to take control. Penta then countered with a Code Red that was initially referred to as a Mexican Destroyer by Tessitore until Graves corrected him. Penta then set up for the Mexican Destroyer, and Xavier Woods jumped up on the apron. Rusev then hit his Machka Kick on Penta in mid-air to pick up the win.

During an ad break, Dominik Mysterio was interviewed and promoted World Collide, taking place this Friday from Las Vegas. Backstage, Jimmy Uso tried to tell LA Knight that he would help him against The Brons tonight, but Knight wasn’t having it and said he would do it himself. 

Nikki Bella vs. Asuka

Next, Nikki Bella took on Asuka with Kairi Sane in her corner. At one point early in the match, Asuka used Kairi as a human shield and then kicked Nikki to gain the advantage. Bella then started fighting from underneath, attempting to mount a comeback, but Asuka hit the Empress Impact, followed by the Asuka Lock for the win. Afterward, backstage, Asuka got into Nikki’s face, and suddenly, Rhea Ripley appeared to help even the odds.

Backstage, Judgment Day was celebrating Rodriguez’s win when Dominik Mysterio appeared, and the others wondered where he had been. They grilled Dom about El Grande Americano, and Dom said that it was a lucha thing that they wouldn’t understand. Roxanne said she would go to talk to him as he stormed off. 

LA Knight vs. Bronson Reed

The main event of the show was LA Knight taking on Bronson Reed with Bron Breakker in his corner who got involved in the match behind the referee’s back. Meanwhile, Knight had turned down any potential help from other faces earlier in the night. 

 

LA Knight set up for the BFT, but Bron Breakker jumped up on the apron, allowing Reed to hit the Jagged Edge for the win (the same exact finish as another match earlier in the night). After the match, Breakker and Reed started beating down Knight when Jimmy Uso ran down to attempt to help, but he was promptly speared for his troubles. Jey Uso then appeared and helped briefly, only to get a spear himself. LA Knight then grabbed a chair and chased the heels off. Knight then shook hands with Jimmy, but then Jey speared him out of nowhere as the show went off the air.
