Rhodes has been off television since August and missed Clash in Paris as he has been filming his role as “Guile” in the Street Fighter film, which will be released in 2026.
An injury angle to Rhodes was executed with Drew McIntyre taking out Rhodes with a Claymore, sending Rhodes’ head into the announcer’s desk.
McIntyre is set to face Randy Orton on Friday Night SmackDown this week in Norfolk, Virginia.
Wrestlepalooza will be WWE’s first event on the new ESPN direct-to-consumer service, with the following announced:
*John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
*Mixed Tag Match: CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
*Women’s Championship (vacant): Stephanie Vaquer vs. IYO SKY
*The Usos vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed
