Diego Lopes and Jean Silva capped off Noche UFC with an explosive featherweight fight, with a double bonus going to the winner.
Lopes rebounded from his five-round decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski with a highlight reel finish of Jean Silva in the main event of Noche UFC.
Lopes nearly finished the Fighting Nerds representative in the first round by securing the mount position and annihilating him with elbows and punches, and managing to slice open his opponent with several blows.
Silva survived by escaping the position and ended the round on a better note.
It set the stage for a fast and furious second round, which was one of the best rounds of the year. It was punctuated by each landing several spinning elbows, including the fight-ending sequence where Lopes connected and put Silva on the canvas and administered strikes until referee Michael Beltran called for the stoppage.

It was a heated scene as Silva disagreed with the finish and tried to lunge at Lopes in the heat of the moment.
The fight was called off with twelve seconds left in the second round and provided Lopes with his sixth win in the UFC, with his only blemish to the current featherweight champion.
Silva fell 16-3 and ended his thirteen-fight winning streak, going back to 2018.
Not surprisingly, the two were awarded the Fight of the Night bonus, with Lopes also taking home one of the Performance of the Night bonuses for $100,000 in total.
In the co-feature, David Martinez was originally scheduled to fight Quang Le on the card, but was inserted to fight Rob Font when Raul Rosas Jr. was injured and withdrew from the fight.
Martinez won the first and third rounds and made a statement in the closing seconds of the fight. Martinez stunned Font and unloaded the chamber by swarming Font with strikes as the audience went wild, and the horn sounded to end the bantamweight contest.
It was Martinez’s second fight in the UFC and improved his record to 13-1 while earning a win against the #8-ranked bantamweight, Font, who falls to 22-9 and snaps a two-fight win streak.
